Peter Pap evaluates a rug based on six criteria: color, design, rarity, craftsmanship, condition, and overall feel (see How to Choose a Rug). Great Buys provide an opportunity for both new and established collectors to purchase rugs of merit that may not meet the highest standards of excellence on all six of these criteria. Often, these are rugs acquired in the purchase of a complete estate or collection, or rugs taken in trade for an antique rug of greater value.
Great Buys are an attractive (and intelligent) alternative to buying a new rug or to buying at auction, where the rugs are not guaranteed. They are also excellent starter rugs and make thoughtful gifts for weddings and other occasions.
As with all Peter Pap oriental rugs, each Great Buy includes a complete statement of condition and authenticity.
