Peter Pap will offer an illustrated talk to guide both the experienced collector and the first-time buyer in choosing and purchasing an antique oriental rug. Peter will discuss the six key elements that he looks for when evaluating a rug. He will also offer a glimpse at some of the tricks of the trade that buyers should be aware of when evaluating an antique rug.

Rugs may be taken home on approval with no obligation. Peter will be available for private, in-home consultation. Please email us with special size requests prior to the sale.
The Aiken-Rhett House stands alone as the most intact townhouse complex showcasing urban life in antebellum Charleston. Built in 1818 and greatly expanded by Gov. and Mrs. William Aiken, Jr. in the 1830s and 1850s, the house has survived virtually unaltered since 1858.
