Karabagh

c. 1900
Caucasus
DESCRIPTION:

Woven in the South Caucasian region of Karabagh, this is a happy folk rendition of an older 19th century 'Eagle Kazak.' It is drawn with much less formality and an emphasis on simplified geometric forms. Several animals, drawn with diagonal stripes, are particularly charming.
