This Luri Bakhtiari salt bag was woven by tribal pastoralists in the area west of Isfahan. The front is executed in sumak technique and combines animals with geometric motifs against a deep slate blue ground. A crisp white border draws alternating flower buds and squared rosettes across the entire perimeter. A decorative band of wool pile is woven at the bottom, adding color and reinforcing this more vulnerable area.
