This incredibly fine small Senneh kilim was woven with a partial silk foundation in western Persia. Clusters or bouquets of flowers are interspersed with small stylized birds against a radiant white ground. The size and proportions of this piece suggest that it may have been woven as a 'balisht', a small elegant pillow cover. Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Swan.
