Bands of colorful shrubs cascade horizontally like a fine shawl against the field of this Neriz carpet from South Persia. Three borders, each with linked stems of roses, frame the piece lending a more formal framing to an elegant but abstract village aesthetic. Neriz carpets are largely woven by Afshar people and reflect a balance of classic Persian and tribal models. Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Swan.
