Afshar mixed technique salt bag

Woven using several techniques of flat weave, this Afshar salt bag draws a large white diamond, composed of small diamond elements, with serrated edges against a dark field. The same elements drawn in red and blue are placed within a lattice that spans the field to form an overlapping but complementary design. The tassels at the top of the bag are made from the top regions of warp that were not used to weave the central neck.
