This handsome Yomut chuval displays characteristics often ascribed to the Karagashli sub-group. The large chuval guls are well spaced and the ‘chemcheh’ minors very well articulated. There are small cotton highlights in the gul situated in the center row on the left-hand side of the field. Despite some smoke damage, a sign that this piece must have been utilized domestically sometime within a Turkmen yurt. The madder red ground is a particularly pleasing hue as is the light blue ‘abrash’ coloring the minors.
